Lid and Base Boxes: Custom Two-Piece Rigid Boxes

The lid and base box — also called a two-piece or telescope box — is the classic rigid box: a base tray and a separate lid that slides over it. It is simple, sturdy and timeless, and for many products it is the best value premium box you can order.

A thumb notch or ribbon pull on the base makes lifting a tight-fitting lid easier.

If your product sits on a shelf or ships in volume, a lid and base box usually gives the better cost-to-value ratio. If the opening moment is part of your marketing, a magnetic gift box is worth the extra cost.

Materials and finishes

Lid and base boxes are built on 1.5–3 mm grey chipboard and wrapped in printed coated paper, book cloth or faux leather. Popular finishes are a foil-stamped logo on the lid, full-colour print, matte or soft-touch lamination and a printed inner surface. Add an EVA foam, card or satin insert to hold the product in place.

Terms

Minimum order is 500 pieces per design. We make a physical sample for a fee that is refunded when you order; production takes about 15 days after sample approval, and we ship under all Incoterms with payment by SWIFT in EUR or USD.
